Hey, just got the following e-mail which seems like it's someone trying to rob account logins.

    "Dear Dcu.ie Email User

Dcu.ie Computer Security Policy requires that Username And Password are verified on a regular basis. For end-user services including Dcu.ie e-mail Internet pages, Cluster & Staff WTS and Unix services such as Socrates and Plato, this Username And Password must be Verified here in our database.

If your username and password has not been verified within the next 7days,it will be automatically reset and be deactivated from our database. provide the following data to

    user name(_________________)

    password(_______________)

Note: This message ONLY applies to the Dcu.ieE-mail and not any other user ids you may own.

    Help Desk.Important:
    Dcu.ie Account Verification Team
Email Account Verification Update ! !"

The e-mail is from one rbalmace@uc.cl. So obviously not someone at DCU.

I asked a friend of mine had he gotten it and he hasn't so maybe it just got through my spam filter.

Just thought I'd put it out there though in case anyone else might have thought it was legit.

I don't know who to contact about this sort of thing so if someone can let me know I'll send it on to them so they can send an e-mail warning students about it.

Edit: Forwarded it on to help desk there.

Its a phishing email. Just delete. I get loads of them. Spamassassin usually gets them, but some make it thru.

You will never be asked to renew or give out your username and password.

These all all phising emails as said above.
