Guys does anyone know if you can get a pre-paid credit card easily in a shop somewhere, as a gift for someone else? I want to give one to a friend for online shopping - but I see some require a host of personal details etc. How do I do this, do I fill in my own and then put money on it and give it to him? Is there an easier way?

Don't think you can do this. If you buy it in your name, he'll find it hard to use it to make any purchases. You won't be able to set one up in his name either.

This might do the trick http://www.thisismydublin.com/home/give-the-gift-of-dublin-city-centre-this-christmas/
I got one recently, and it doesn't ask for any personal info, and there are no extra charges with it. It can't be topped back up, but other than that its great.

Cheers but he wants it for online purchases... Is there anything that works that way?

It works online no problem. You just enter it like a regular mastercard.
I used mine to pay for goods from the US without any issues.

If hes got a 3v card try and sneak it out of his wallet and bring it down to the shop to top it up.
