Can anyone tell me about this course? I can!
What its like? It's just the old PCAM course, but they've added the nanotechnology. It's just like science for first 2 years, Phys Chem and Maths with one or two modules introducing you to materials and what not. It really kicks off in 3rd year when you do specialised labs. One of which is done through electronic engineering where you make an IC chip. 4th year is split in 2, first you do a 3 month research project either in TCD or in a lab abroad. I went to San Diego for 3 months and had the time of my life! You come back dec, do write up and then lectures for 12 weeks.
People who do it? Predominately guys, but becoming more 50/50 and you get to know science people in first two years so not the same issues as CS or Maths.
Number of places? think 16, but could change, hope this answers questions. There's also a new PCAM web site, https://www.tcd.ie/Advanced_Materials/index.php

    hope this helps.
