Anyone know if this company is still trading - their main line tel number is registering 'number not in use' ??

Their website www.classicmotorscork.com also seems to be down?

With the prices they were charging, it wouldn't surprise me if they went bust :D

Did you get work done on one of your cars by the AG?

Classic motors have indeed closed down,
one of the lads who worked there has set up on his own doing panel beating, painting etc.

I had an estimate got for my Alfasud repair from them for the insurance company - now I have to find some place else to get a new estimate. They had not commenced any of the work however due to continuing haggling with the insurance company.

Not out of pocket at all - other than a wasted trip to Bandon last December.

There's no money in restoring classic cars in this country, it's a lovely idea but not financially viable.

How come it can be viable in the UK and not here? Surely the volume of business can't be much different as there are only a handful of operators here.

It was virtually impossible to get in contact with anyone directly at Classic Motor Works anyway.

'Im away on business all week with very limited access to a telephone' was the standard answering machine message - wtf.

Not an ideal message for potential customers.

People won't pay the rates here that they would in the UK and the caliber of car restored in the UK would be a lot higher than here. Aston Martin vs Ford Escort, kind of thing if you get my drift.
