I want to find out what is the one game you had in COD (COD4 / MW2) that has always stayed in your mind for whatever reason, not necessarily that you got a nuke or something( although that is fine too) but one that you always remember. (p.s I hope this thread hasn’t been done to death already but I’m still starting one)

Please describe the game, the map, the game mode(free for all, sabotage etc) and the reason.

    For example here is mine

    Mode: Sabotage
    Game: COD4
    Map: Countdown

Reason: Was playing with my friend on countdown, our team had an extremely intense sabotage game between two very equal teams. No one team could plant and defend the whole game (obviously), it was an insane battle.
Finally my friend planted the bomb in one of the hangers, he got shot by the opposing team, i was in the middle of the map, cooked a grenade for 2 seconds approx, took aim and lobbed it towards our planted bomb, took out two of their players that must have been defusing and we won the game.
Will always remember that game because of the intense game and the lobbed grenade after some great teamwork on our team, and my friend’s part.

    Mode: TDM
    Game: MW2
    Map: Wasteland

Reason: I Never really get tense or anything playing mw2, theres nothing at stake really. The only reason i remember this game more than others is that it was my first nuke, i had never put the nuke on my killstreaks before, but had just setup my PVR, so thought.... may aswel. Got it on my first attempt... realised that nukes are actually really easy to get. w

EDIT: This thread would have been cooler if it wasn't limited to cod, but online gaming in general :D Have some really epic memories of cs/css games.. some great lan games etc. Only really started playing cod and console games about 6 months ago so its kinda ****ty.

    Good thread OP :)

    Mode: Sabotage
    Game: COD4
    Map: Strike

My choice will be different to most I reckon as we actually lost the match! Was the match that ended our massive win streak(it ended on 70 something) in like a 9 hour session too. It was first game to go the full distance in the streak. I went 89-23-15(or around 15 deaths).

Very back and forwards match that saw us plant half a dozen times and they a bit more than that. 3 of the lads disconnected mid way, so 3 scrubs were paired with us as a result.

Last man standing on my team, took 3 of them down in sudden death. Thought I got the last guy, he went into last stand and killed me from a few feet away. Sickening but I wasn't as pissed off as I thought I would be as we fought to to the very end.

There are a damn lot of matches I could have called upon be it with awesome scores, last minute counters(sabo) to win, clean sweep on HQ(enemy getting 0 points on the board), aces in SnD, 40 kill streak using the MP44 and so on.

But it's the fact it was just an epic session no matter that we lost, still felt so good. That session came at the right time as my interest in COD4 was waning and that streak rejuvenated my love for COD/FPS(till MW2 came along and tried it's damnedest to crush it :pac:).

    Mode:Search and Destroy
    Game:COD 4
    Map:Crossfire

Loved to snipe from the start on this map-both defending the bomb and attacking. I got a collateral through smoke from the bottom of the map and a triple on top of the car aiming towards that room they always go into. Ended up with around 13-3 score at the end so was happy out! Most enjoyable game ever on COD.

    Mode: TDM
    Game: MW2
    Map: Underpass

Reason: The days of when I never played parties, earlier in the year.. Was in this random regular TDM. Ended up getting 44 kills and 2 deaths with a magnum tac knife and ninja on. Was the most enjoyable game I ever played on my own and the only one I can remember in depth.

    Mode: SnD
    Game: MW2
    Map: Rundown

My best game of Search ever, I went 13-0. The lads I was playing with were loving it. I was using a marathon/ACR setup. In the final round there were a few dodgy moments but I managed to stay alive. Delighted.

That's just one of my memorable matches.

    Mode: FFA
    Game: COD 4
    Map: Wetwork

I reached 25 kills in very short time and the person nearest to me at the end had 3 kills. Is it a record:pac:? I had a Ramboesque time of it for a while winning something like 16 or 18 FFA's in a row.

I'm not sure why this one stick in my head, I know I have had better rounds, but this is one I feel proud of.

    Mode: Search and Destroy
    Game: MW2
    Map: Wasteland

Myself, my brother and a few of the lads were playing and this was crucial round.
I stayed around where we spawned by the statue in Def and held the choke to the right. A minute later, everyone was dead bar myself and two enemies. So I started to make my way to the other bomb site in the hope that they were arming the bomb there.

I was to the right of the bunker's entrance when an enemy team member runs by in the trench. Naturally I aim at him with the M21 silenced thermal, but I just couldn't give away my position while in the open. My brother starts yelling at me to shoot already. Instead I ran after him. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I see the other enemy near the bombsite. I pull out the USP extended mag and kill both off them.
    *cheering*

I think it was just a gut feeling, and by fluke, it paid off.

Another one just for the laugh:
    Mode: Search and Destroy
    Game: MW2
    Map: Skidrow

Killed entire enemy team in the tunnel using a M240 ex mags .

    mode: search and destroy.
    game: cod4.
    map: overgrown.

probably the game i remember best out of any i've ever played. it was the game that sorta brought me up from being a kid who had no clue of how to play to the punk who thought he had mad skills. see, i was playing on this server with a bunch of unwritten rules (no tubes, don't be a 'noob', smgs and snipers for life etc.) and i had spent the last while destroying these rules, going on savage streaks with rpds and p90s and all that jazz.

anyway, it was six versus six and i camped at our spawn for the first two minutes of the match. when those one hundred and twenty seconds had passed, i was the only one remaining on my team save for my pal who was afk and they had only one guy down. i had spent the first two minutes shooting at the wall with my silenced mp5 and usp.45 and was therefore out of ammo.

    ... yeah.

my first thought was to just get out a grenade and kill myself, but i heard the pirates of the caribbean theme song from my television and it made me feel like winning, so i told myself i'd protect mister. afk and if he died i'd try to plant the bomb. see someone sneaking up from the bridge on the left and he gets a quick headshot on my team-mate so that was that. my opponent doesn't see me though and he runs into the house adjacent to me and i follow and knife him.

go in search of the bomb, knife another guy just before i reach it. it's now three versus one and i've picked up my first enemy's weapon but something's saying, 'don't use it, scuid mhór, just keep knifing!'

i'm now on the opposite side of the map on the other bridge and i see i'm running out of time so i rush to b and plant. camp in the house right beside the bomb. see some rusher try and defuse, catch him out and knife him in the back. get shot by a sniper (SOMEHOW SURVIVE) and rush back into the house, rush out of the backway, run along the lane and hop over the wall. find my assailant looking from the bomb to where i ran in, not quite sure what to do. he never got the chance to find out.

i sprint back into the house and survey the window, only to get hit in the back of the head by my last opponent. i smash my fist on my keyboard but feel victorious as the bomb explodes just as my killer tries to defuse it.

great game, won me respect from players i've been playing with for nearly two years now. will never, ever forget it.

    CoD 4
    S&D
    Backlot

Was just messing with some friends, 3 on 3. One of my friends had Martyrdom on, and died. Nade dropped, killed my other friend, cue them giving out to each other. Next thing, car beside me blew up, it was hit by the nade too, ended up killing me. Then my friend with Marty ended up getting something like 7 TKs, due to his refusal to drop the perk doing more damage than good.

It was just so full of fail, it always stuck in my head.

    S&D / Scrapyard / Silenced Famas & Akimbo Glocks

Other team was a clan of Germans (not sure why this is relevant) and I had forgottent to change my 5-7-9 killstreak.

First game me v 6. Last alive. Got 5 of them with the famas and killed the last guy trying to plant the bomb with the G18s.

2nd Game got a kill and another with the predator for Harriers. Was last alive v 1. I would have had him if he hadn't had a grenade launcher attached to his assault rifle :( Cost me the Pavelow.

3rd Game Launched Harriers. Was at 12-1 or something like when one of the little nazis pulled the plug on the game.

I'm always forgetting to change killstreak set ups but it's a great feeling when you launch a pavelow in s&d. Rarely successful 'cos of cold blooded but meh!

One kill I always remember is S&D in terminal. Last alive. Last enemy at top of escalator. Hurl a flash up and peg it up escalator akimbo USPs ablazing. Caught him with a lucky headshot. This is the only time I have spun round and round when defusing the bomb.:)

    CoD 5
    Nazi Zombies
    Der Reise

After getting the game after modern warfare 2 i never realised that there was matchmaking for zombies, so i had only ever played Nacht Der Untoten and got to level 12.

But when I finally realised that there was matchmaking I played my first online zombie game with 3 randoms who all had mics and were friendly.

With teamwork(and good guns) we made it to lvl39 when the hast disconnected:( never spoke to hem again after playing for about 4 or 5 hours with them.

First game I played when I unlocked the M16, was on Favela, I just did the John Rambo thing, got a 28 kill streak with M16 and Iron sights. Started my 54 win streak! Hate the M16 now! Strange one alright!

    COD 4

    S&D

    Overgrown.

Reason: I just always loved this map for some reason, felt it was spread and designed very well. I was always able to barricade myself into the barn at the top of the map with a few claymores and have a clear view of the second target so when I was attacking I always made that target mine with a couple of claymores and a sniper rifle.

Also when I was defending I used to throw a smoke grenade around the area of the wooden bridge so I could run down the small valley in the middle unseen, appear more or less behind the other team and take them out one by one. It was the one and only map I was consistently the best player in the round regardless of what team I was on.
