Anti-Ageing Foundation For Younger Skin

I need a new foundation and would really like to try out the Estée Lauder Futurist. I have super dry skin and, even though I'm only 18, I tend to use anti-ageing foundations because they're often the most hydrating. I smoke as well, and am not a good sleeper, so I like foundations that make me look a little more dewy.
My question is, is this okay for my skin? I've been told that the chemicals used are intended for older skin and may be too harsh for mine. Also, it has been said to me that if I start using anti-aging treatments now they won't be as effective when I'm older.
Also, I'm not 100% on the Futurist, so if anyone has any recommendations it'd be nice :)

I wouldn't worry so much about the ingredients in the foundation when you're bathing your skin in cigarette smoke. Something like 1000 toxins are wafting around your face with every drag.

Thats going to be far more drying, ageing and dulling than anything else. Quit now why you're still young before it does more damage and maybe you wont' need anti-aging products at 18.

I was looking for advice on foundation, thanks for the lecture though, I've never heard any of that before.

I think in the past I have been told that you shouldn't use products for older skin than what you have. That could be complete nonsense but I have a vague recollection of being told that.

My skin always gets drier coming in to winter and for the past month I've been using face oils at night - with great results. The first I tried was bio oil and now I have 'trilogy' rose hip oil. I find them both good but I recall reading that the trilogy one can be used under make up to get that dewy look. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to soon. I'd say put a small bit of the oil in with your moisturiser and apply it maybe 30 mins or so beforedoing your make up.

Something else to consider maybe would be a using a serum or primer under your make up? L'oreal do one that everyone seems to be raving about.

In terms of foundation I like bourjois '10 hour sleep foundation' - its really nice, gives a dewy look. Rimmel 'Recovery' is similar.
Mac do a light foundation called 'face and body' which gives the look you want too.
I'm not recommending the bourjois & rimmel ones because they are cheap - I really think they are good. I bought an Armani foundation recently to get the look that you want and it isn't nearly as nice.

Ahhh, I wish I had 18 year old skin!! Look after it with suncream every day and you will reap the benefits for years!

Just thinking there - try a cream or gel blusher instead of powder too. They look gorgeous.

Thanks so much little friend, I never even considered using cream blush for some reason! I did use the 10 hour sleep but totally forgot about it, must give it another try. Thanks so much, great help :)

Try LOreal Serum Lift, it gives a lovely dewy finish and sounds exactly what you need. Its around €22 but a little goes a long way. Second the cream blush too.

You should use a high factor sun cream everyday, I find my skin always looks better after wearing it for a period of time and it helps prevent your skin becoming damaged or aged. :)

I used to always wear foundation, and went for the anti aging ones too. Eventually I found very little difference between them and other types of foundation. Not wearing foundation every day seems to make my skin much healthier.

anniehoo I see you on the animal forum a lot so I presume you're an animal fan...you do know that l'oreal test on animals? Dogs are included in that by the way. I would never touch their stuff!
