    Hey Guys,

Just was looking for a bit of advice. I have never owned a MacBook before however after buying a netbook when they first came out and never using the thing I think I am considering buying my first apple product.

I like th macbooks because Ill be using it for mostly college work in final year and then my masters next year were I will be doing a lot of traveling to different places.

My question is, were is the cheapest place to buy a MacBook?

Buying new, you'll find the price is pretty much the same everywhere, if perhaps a little cheaper from places like Amazon UK or Dabs. Apple don't discount their machines over time like other manufacturers. Personally, I would recommend buying from Apple. As a student you are entitled to a discount of at least 7 percent, or 10 percent if your college is part of Apple on Campus (universities mostly). If money is tight get a refurbished model - no student discount on these but discounts on old and new models up to 20 percent and they are usually as good as new.

Seconded the advice to buy direct from Apple. One tip, if you happen to find yourself in London or Belfast, pick up your Macbook there and save yourself a few quid in the process.

My Macbook was nearly the best thing I've ever bought and have now converted two of the family to the Mac world.....

The iPod offer is over unfortunately. It's a rebate for the cost of an iPod minus VAT. It runs every summer until early September.
