What are peoples views on Geertz' arguement that thinking is a public activity since its primarily social in its roots, actions etc. He goes into it in great detail in his anthropology book and uses the people of Bali as an example but I'm just wondering what peoples views are on the statement that thinking is public due to it being social in its origins and actions.
