Does anyone know if this will run this winter? Or did anyone play in it previously.

Looks like there used to be a site @ http://www.emeraldprotour.com/

I believe it was an pro & amateur tour ran in leinster over the winter months with amateurs off 12 & less allowed in.

Here's an exert from their old website

"The Emerald Pro Tour was set up to provide an affordable and accessible tournament for all professionals in Ireland. It also gives amateurs a chance to hone their skills with those who have made it. It is our hope to bring a tournament most weeks throughout the winter months using top clubs the length and breadth of Leinster. We at All in Golf Ltd., the organisers of the new Emerald Pro Tour, will adapt to players wishes, suggestions and advise and we hope to eventually get all provinces involved in this exciting future for Irish Golf.

The tour itself will consist of two separate competitions - ‘The Emerald Pros’ and ‘The Emerald Amateurs’. These will run concurrently with pros and amateurs playing together where appropriate. Each section will consist of an Order of Merit, Player profiles/records, rules, membership info, latest news, and events which can all be found on our detailed website."

It’s our hope to provide all amateurs of a handicap of 12 or less a tour which is both competitive and professionally run. It will hopefully be a breeding ground for pros’ of the future.

This tour will be a realistic alternative to the various Alliances and Scratch Cups which are noticeably becoming more difficult to get your name on the tee sheets. There is also no link between these events. Therefore our tour will provide a linked amateur Alliance which will be held on many different courses. Your performance each day will be rewarded with the top 3 receiving vouchers and also the top 20 receiving ‘Order of Merit’ points which will be compiled into a leader-board. The top 5 in this will then receive prizes which will be announced in due course.

Membership must be attained to be entered into the Order of Merit. There will also be a reduction in your entry fee to each event. Even though the courses vary throughout our season, the entry fee will not. This will enable us to give you the consistency of a standardised entry fee and payout structure.

    Member: €50- €70
    Non-Member: €65 - €85

Pal of mine played in it about three years ago and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it anyway. I could be wrong, but I think you can enter even if your HC is over 12, but you will obviously only be given a max of 12. Open to correction on that though.
