Advent Calendar?

Anybody know where to get a good advent calendar? I'd like a proper serious religious one not one where you get chocolate each day for example. I had a good one years ago where you saw a different religious themed pic each day. I suppose I should try the local churches?

Your local church may sell one, or may know where to get one.
I can't recall the name of the shop but there are a few Christian Publication shops in town in Dublin, there is another on Lower Abbey Street, I know I went in for a confirmation book before, they might have things like that. Your location says Limerick so probably not much use to you unless you've someone up here/are coming up.
But if you've any local christian bookshops or that around, ask in there. Though I'd say some of the chapel shops might stock them.

Try Veritas. There's one on Lower Abbey Street I think and there's definitely one in the Blanchardstown Centre, the UCI end, outside to the left.

You might also get one in the St Martin de Porres Apostilate on Parnell Square, (home of The Moving Crib). I know they definitely send stuff out by mail-order.

I'm not travelling up to Dublin just for an Advent calendar mate :) Bought this on eBay.

That's exactly the kind of one you said you didn't want! :)

I know I know but there's no silly chocolates (at least I think so). I'm still on the look out for a nativity one though.

I did point out that the place on Parnell Square does mail order.

  • I finally got this in the Knock religious shop in Little Catherine Street here in Limerick. They charged me €5 while the eBay one will probably work out at around €15 delivered!! That other Santa one I linked to and bought off eBay is so small it's ridiculous. Thanks to star-pants for the idea and I'd advise anybody else to try their local religious shops before buying blind over eBay.
