iphone 4 for 299? surely this site is scam?

    From the site:
This is a clearance item there are no refunds, exchanges or warranty with this product. The item is brand new locked to the 3 network Ireland. There are no accessories, chargers, headphones or mauals for this product. There is no warranty as stated in the website terms and conditions. 16GB Apple Iphone 3 Network restricted

It may not even work. Other iPhones on the site are priced as you'd expect, €600-700 range. I see nothing all that special about this site. Prices aren't really any better than you'd find from any well known site.

As always, if you don't fully trust it, or you don't know, then don't buy.

    Hi All,

I have decided to join the thread to defend myself a little here. www.shockeronics.com is a new company we are based in Portlaoise Co laois. It has taken a lot of money, time and effort to produce this site and to ensure our security methods are of the highest standard. We are verisign and comodo secure. We are an Irish run operation stocking over 50,000 products promoting Irish jobs with your business.

Our prices are NOT a scam! we work hard sourcing products at the lowest prices and we DO NOT import from china so dont expect a heavey customs bill wgen the product arrives.

It is very tough to build trust in the customer as a new website we would hope that this will re-assure you or you may contact us 0818 333 334 to discuss!

In Regards to the Apple Iphone for €299.00 the product discription states it is a new phone and yes it is working but it has no accessories and it is locked to network 3. This allows us to sell the handset at this price! So if you already have the accessories or wish to get the accessories elsewhere this phone is a great purchase!

    Kind Regards

Hi Shockeronics, sorry if I offended, good to hear the background to the company. One thing I have a concern about though, if I order the phone and its delivered but doesnt include warranty, what happens if phone just plain doesnt work? even if Im using my three simcard?

Thankyou for the reply, it's good to see companies represent themselves on forums, and take the time to clarify any questions that people may have.

As to the phone with no warranty, as a business seller you would still be obliged to accept returns for non-functioning or failing products, as the buyers statutory rights would still apply. These can never be waived, regardless of the warranty.

    Hi There,

If the item discription provided information that the product was none functional or had failing parts and the customer agrees to the terms and conditions of that sale its very clear to the customer what he or she is purchasing. It would be the same as entering a currys store seening a tv with no remote control and agreeing to purchase it.

Remember this is only in our CLEARANCE ITEMS section which can some times contain shop soiled or customer returned items with a full discription of the fault if any at all in some cases.

We have new fully manufacture warranty items for sale throughout thre rest of the website.

    Kind Regards,

    Shockeronics ltd

If the item is sold as damaged, soiled or otherwise imperfect, then the consumer's rights are reduced to what is reasonable for the item that was purchased. There are still rights there though.

In the case of the clearance iPhone on your site, it is being sold as new, in working order. If I buy that, and it breaks down in a months time, I have full statutory entitlements that you must honour. I would be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. Obviously I wouldn't be able to claim for the fact that there are no cables, charger or manual, as this is the way it's advertised and sold, but a defect or failure is covered.

    Hi There,

I hope Im not confusing you? I did state in my earlier posts that the iphone is new! It just has no accessories. Therefore if the item is new as I have stated if an item is new it will have a full manufacturers warranty over one year! The item cannot be returned however as for the reason of: no charger, headphones, cables etc... Every item can have different terms and conditions and phones have perticular terms and conditions as in a phone store.

We will go above the requirement of the consumer regulatory to ensure that every customer experience is of the best we can offer.

Does this clear things up for you?

    Kind Regards

    Shockeronics

    Hi There,

Im delighted you feel the prices of the ink are low! hence our slogan "shockingly low prices"

Im afraid we only have the discription of the two items /laptops as this is what our suppliers have provided us. But I done a quick search on google and you can find a lot of information regarding these. If you need further specs let me know and I will email them to you.

As we are a business based in a large industrial area we can not permit access to the public. We only deal with online ecommerce shopping. for this reason items cannot be collected at our warehouse. Shipping is very reasonable, fast and if your a long distance away more affordable in some cases.

    Kind Regards,

If you have the stock everyone will buy in confident if you can show a picture with some the stock with todays paper and a print out showing Boards.ie Rocks

Hi all, I feel I have to stand up for Joe and the guys in Shockeronics, I had my reservations and went to the website and was presented with a chat screen to talk to a staff member there, I asked all my questions and once happy with the responses I got, I went ahead and ordered an iPhone 4g for 299, I ordered last friday and received it on Tuesday as Monday was a bank holiday.

The product was brand new and sealed in box, had to sign for delivery, overall very very impressed.

    Hi swshop,

Thank you for your feedback and your first post on boards.ie

Our company is not new to this in fact we have been in Ireland longer than some of the companies you mention. Our website is new however.

We have the stock and we have the information of our stock on our website. We are an Irish registered company.
We have not started our media campaign as of yet.

I have posted my company information, my own personal information and the relevent information about us in an earlier post to gain the trust of the public.

Im delighted to see some customers who purchased items placing their feedback on boards.ie also, as this helps us to understand what the customer requires and I think I can speak for everyone when I say everyone wants an easy to navigate website with everything under one roof at low prices.

Again if anyone wish's to contact me personaly by phone or email please do so. Your posts here are always welcome however negative or positive they may be.

    Hi All,

    Can I ask:

"If I was more expensive would this help you to gain more trust in us?"

Should I mark the entire website up in price?

    Your feedback is appreciated:)

    Hey Joe

found your website by this thread, great website and I believe the prices beat that of pixmania, dabs and elara by a good bit. Haven't compared you to komplett yet! but kudos on the site and fair play for introducing yourself

Try and get yourself on the talk to... section. Honestly I think your site will do great and wish you all the best with it

The little bit of feedback I have for you is that a lot of items dont have a description and this was also mentioned earlier. I would love to see a bit more info on some items

    for example:

    http://www.shockeronics.com/Products/MacBook-Pro-MC375BA__06463513.aspx?LineItemId=f499a879-6b4e-4d7c-b5ee-d925dff119eb

Its a great price for a macbook and i'd be seriously interested in the new year as my new years resolution is a macbook to myself! going to the states in march and cant see much of a price difference, plus is customs get me I'd be worse off! Do you happen to have specs for that, the usual hard drive, RAM, CPU etc

Also love the T-Clock! If you stocked the t shirt synthesiser (tynthesiser) then i'd definitely pick one of them up :) hehe

Thanks OP for finding the site for me and thanks Joe for your info!

    Hey There,

Thank You for all your input. I agree the discriptions need more info and we are working hard to get this done, we have 50,000 products so it may take some time... But we are working with our supplier right now to resolve this.

This is one of the reasons we have not fully launched our media campaign we need this kind of feedback to fix problems sooner and at the start rather than later.

    Once again thank you

I will get the customer care department to PM you soon with the info and a small discount voucher.

    Joe

    Hi

no they don't, I already asked that question above, you can read it here

    Hi

just thought I'd post feedback on my purchases from shockeronics.

Was doing a PC upgrade and found prices on this site were as cheap as the cheapest UK sites... Probably a little cheaper. Thought the same thing as some here that they were 'too good' but ordered after reading this thread.

I got a callback almost straightaway to confirm the order and got the part a few days later. During the call I mentioned I was looking for a motherboard they didn't stock and the guy offered to source it for me. He also offered an alternative m/b at a very reasonable price.

I got the impression that he knew his stuff and it was a far more personal service than any of the main Internet supplier I usually buy from.

All in all I would recommend them and will be buying from them again.

    Hi All,

We are working on getting insurance to allow people to pickup at our warehouse, however I’m not promising anything. Watch this space!!
Thanks IrishHomer for the pleasant update.;) However Im not sure what you mean by the bargains being gone?

Shockeronics:eek: prices are some of the best out there at the moment. We run bargain prices on a large range of goods everyday!
Let’s not forget the service we offer and the backup!
YES we are more expensive than ebay with some items but we offer a manufacturer’s warranty and you have the security of dealing with a reputable company knowing you’re going to get what you’re looking at.
We are currently the largest Irish owned electronics cyber store.
I would like to appeal to everyone to support Irish businesses and buy Irish in the current economic downturn.

A bargain cannot always be what it seems to be. It may be imported from outside the EU and excise may need to be paid by the buyer. This happens 1 in 4 people buying online!

I would like to thank our customers and wish everyone on boards.ie a very merry Christmas!

    Kind Regards,

    Joe

I merely voiced my opinion, your sites prices changed drastically overnight as soon as interest grew.

For instance i was interested in a very keenly priced HP desktop pc and then it jumped in price by over €150

Am I reading this correct? So you guys are sending goods from outside the EU, not charging customers 21% VAT. Or are you refering to other stores?

Don't give up hope yet. The order eventually came on 7th jan after being ordered 14th December. Still no reply to emails and countless calls. Full of false promises and excuses. Very poor customer service. Watch out for this crowd.

got an e-mail e-mail a few mins ago to say its on the way so probably a bit presumptuous, and they did offer a little gesture to make up for any hassle.

They offered us gift vouchers too, but they did not send them on. Make sure you get them. I am not 'condemning the company' in any way, just stating facts. We were told that our TVs were already with UPS and on the way and that a tracking number would be sent the following day. We checked for this all weekend. We received a call a few days later to say the shipment had not left the warehouse at all and that, understandably because of the snow, it could not be sent out in time for Christmas-which was fine and I accept it was out of their hands at that stage, it's just I did not like the fact that we were told they were on there way when they were not.

I totally respect the lads and know that it is hard for them to cope with the unprecedented demand they had over the Christmas as they are a new founded company and have few workers. Their prices are very good and the fact that it is an Irish company is great-it just so happened that I picked a wrong time to buy I guess! Our TVs are working fine and arrived in perfect condition. I'm sure they will soon iron out all the teething problems as regards customer service and I wish them the best of luck.

I got a telly over the christmas from them it was slow but snow is snow, They had to close for two days with the snow I seen it on the website at the time... I had the same problem getting in contact with them, they seem to be under staffed but they do reply eventualy.

I got a 10 euro gift voucher for the delay and got a phone from them yesterday delivered in two days as promised...

I think it would be best if the manager of the store commented here again?

Make it fair as we realy only hear about things that go wrong never what goes right for companies! Plus their Irish... This is a bonus being one of our own!
