    Link. Heartless bastards RTE with that headline. ;_;
    Digital Spy reports that the star of 'Happy Days' died at his home in Palm Springs, following a battle with lung cancer.

    The actor played Mr. C, Richie Cunningham's (Ron Howard) father. in the 1970's sitcom.

    In a radio interview his former co-star Henry Winkler, who played The Fonz on the show, said: "I'm in shock, I really am. I spoke to him just a few weeks ago and he seemed to be getting his strength back."

    Howard paid his respects to the actor: "Tom's insight, talent, strength of character and comic timing made him a vital central figure in the 'Happy Days' experience.

    "A great father and husband, and a wonderful artist, Tom led by example, and made us all laugh while he was doing it.

    "My last conversations with Tom reflected the love of life and peace of mind that he always maintained throughout his full and rewarding life."

    The actor won a Tony award for his performance as New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia in the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1959 musical 'Fiorello!'.

    He also starred in the TV series 'Father Dowling Mysteries' and appeared in the recent film 'The Back-up Plan'.

    Rest in peace Mr. C.

    I remember the night I lost all my money to those card sharks and my dad Tom Bosley had to get it back like it was yesterday.

    I'll miss him.

    It is when you realise that Maggie Thatcher out-lived him.

    Disgusting levity when people are dying in hospitals all over the country.
