    Hi,
I've had a conversation with two people recently. The are both in year 3 of degrees as mature students.
One is a technical degree(construction related) and ths other is in social sciences.
They are both under the impression, so i've gathered, that after their degrees they can do a one year course and become a primary school teacher.
Surely this is incorrect. Can someone please enlighten me.

There is the 18 month course as has been stated. But they'll need to get through a tough interview in English and Irish. Lots more want that course than get it.

And after all of that, there may be very little work. Hundreds of unemployed qualified teachers around at the moment.

I was thinking to myself it seemed too good to be true.I was wondering why everybody else wasn't following this route.
