Ok, so before i can afford to get new car need to get current one through NCT.

Car is sound apart from one thing, the headlights have rusted inside meaning that there is next to no reflection coming out and i know for a fact that it will fail the nct on this.

Had ordered the lights on ebay, but turns out the plonker didnt have them in stock even tho were listed, so now im stuck, nct is on 30th october.

Have looked on micksgarage and looking for another price if anyone knows anywhere i can look

Id be almost certain its the same so happy ending hopefully...available from some scrapyards ,sorry 'vehicle recyclers' too almost certainly and they will post ...but why not deal with fellow boards.ie member if possible.Crackin little motor in all forms ,only real common achilles heel is clutch cable snapping(and does need to be adjusted quite often too or may be hard to get into gear which Id imagine many an owner took to be failed clutch or even gearbox )(oh handbrake cable aint great either !).Of course they are as flimsy as heck and anything you can touch you can break ...I even once had an entire backrest collapse in half -not very reassuring from safety point of view ....have heard of people seriously injured at speeds barely above running pace in them -ironically my last one took a hit up the rear from a TRANSIT with only a tail light needed to get her back roadworthy!!!Maybe Im luckier than I sometimes give myself credit for !!!!
Also it was the only of quite a fleet of vehicles at my disposal at the time including 735,Ford Cougar,Hyundai Lantra hatchback etc that could fit a large piece of furniture (baby changing unit -big rectangualr shape) and carry it back over 200 miles in sub zero (rubber in wipers froze solid -guess theyre designed for Italy not Poland despite factory being there )conditions .That was an 899cc ,must have had around half a dozen of 'each' type ...Prefer shape of Cinq to Sei...any nice ones for sale at moment ?The 899cc does roughly 46mpg and 1108cc 42mpg ...the latter can be driven liek you stole it ,begging for revs ,they only SEEM like youre cornering in a phonebox and gonna roll LOL (well within reason !)Speedo is WILDLY optiomiastic above 60mph ...

    EDIT Do people recommend MicksGarage.ie?

Sporting version has little bit different headlights, but you can easily put ones from SX as well. They are exactly the same shape, so no one will know the difference.

Surprised to hear that -I knew the tailight was pinkish instead of orange in Sporting...

Its a great wee car and runs well, was given it for free as was sitting for 2 years outside my m8s house. clock only has 27K miles on it, 1.5K that i put on myself running it to my friends in the north to work on. had the car sit at 95 mph on the M1 south (confirmed by satnav, well satnav showed 93). I do feel a little exposed driving it up and down the M50 each day, but its a great wee runner and easily does 250 miles a week on around €30.

Only problem i have with it is that i feel massive in it and also that cornering at speed is interesting. Looks like the wife is now going to be driving it most of the time which means i go back to driving my almera
