    Hi all,

I've been silently reading the forums for the last week or two, and was finally spurned into action on Monday. So, went into town, bought the trainers in Runways, downloaded the app and went out on W1D1 today!

How do I feel - well..... First few walk / run sections were very easy, however I probably got a bit too overexcited and ran a bit too fast during the run part. By about the 3rd km I was really struggling mainly because I couldn't get enough air into my lungs - my legs are fine and feel like they could keep going, but my lungs were really burning.

I'm hoping this is just a sign of my general slothliness (I was coughing up phlegm I didnt know was there... and I don't smoke!), and I seriously hope this will improve.

Overall I'm delighted I finally got up off my arse and did it, I'm dissapointed I'm as unfit as I am (thought I was going to surprise myself by sprinting the 5km in a flash....), but will stick at it.

By the way, Nike + is an amazing thing - i can play back the whole run etc on the website as I ran with my iPhone tracking my progress. Very very incentivising.

Only prob was the damn earphones kept falling out - any suggestions for a decent pair for running in?.

I'll post again on Friday when I plan on setting the lungs on fire again......

Yep, everyone does it, and then eventually you learn how to slow down a little, so that you can cover the distance. Stick with the programme though, it's a good one. I did it myself this time last year...
