    Hi Guys

I don't know if this is the right place so if not please direct me.

I have with a couple of other guys just put live a new legal services website www.solicitorsinireland.ie We are not solicitors but are trying to provide people without one access to experts in whatever field necessary. We are not a directory either. Put simpley if you have a legitimate case / requirement we will forward it to a panel of solicitors and one of them should get in touch to discuss. Your details are not provided to any solicitor unless they accept the case and they feel that that they can help you.

Anyway I was informed that posting a link on boards.ie can be helpful to driving traffic so this is what I have done.

Again if it is not appropriate please remove the thread / post or link and advise me what I should do.

If you do visit the site any advice would be very much appreciated. Also if you do test the forms out please put the word test into your name. I don't want to send a load of bogus forms to our panel.

    In advance thanks!

    Regards

    RichardB

Thanks for that. If you hadn't spotted it I don't think any of us would have in the next year!!

I trawled through a few of them and the rest seem fine - I'd use/get more out of the page titles, make them more varied and fuller - IMO.

As far as I know, Ireland is really strict when it comes to advertising any sort of personal injury services. I know that you're not solicitors (because you've said it here, your site doesn't really make it clear) - but have you made very sure that your site is kosher?

    Eoin,

Thanks for the post. We have had the concept looked at by two senior councils and several solicitors. I am aware of how stringent the rules are in this regards. Its interesting though that some of the sites that pretend to be independent and are not could face some difficulties. So yes the site is Kosher.

Do you think that we should stress the independence side of thing more. We purposely did not go in for too much self promotion on the site. We would rather let it stand for itself. We have kept it simple as what we want is for people who have no direct access to a lawyer / solicitor that they can be connected to someone who can help them in their case whether it is personal injury or simply making a Will.

Any advice or suggestions are still most welcome

    all the best

    RichB

Cool stuff - I hope we don't go down the road of all the ambulance chasing antics you see in the UK though, we've a bad enough compo-culture as it is.

Your home page says "Ensure quick and confidential response from our expert solicitors" - that doesn't really imply that you're independent - or even that you're not a law firm yourself.

Then the second step is "Tell us what happened or how we may help you". I would infer from this that I would be telling a solicitor my case in confidence.

Your site does not offer any impartial reviews. Instead, you are using a
    "black box" approach.

You are effectively saying to consumers to enter their details into the box and hey presto a solicitor they can trust and has the exact skill set they require will contact them. Unfortunately, the buying process for professional services does not work like that.

The site fails to answers a number of key questions about the solicitors you represent. Can I trust them? Do they have the right skill for my legal problem? Have they a proven track record in this area of legal expertise?

ps: Go to www.rate-your-solicitor.com to see how powerful impartial customer reviews can be.

It can drive traffic to your site in the sense that people reading this post may click on the link but it will do little or nothing for your Google Index ranking. It used to years ago... but Google now gives very little weight to links posted on bulletin boards and may even penalise for it.

Also, Google ignores backlinks that use the domain as the anchor text.

Creating a thread with the sole purpose of driving traffic to your site is called SPAM and yes, it is not appropriate.

Not a reflection of the new website, clever enough idea, but you can never trust a solicitor. Trust them at your peril!

You can trust a solicitor if you do your homework and choose a firm that has a good reputation. I have recently been through the courts and found my solicitor excellent and everything worked out well. It was a stressful time though!!

Why not just rank your website in Google for the term "solicitors in ireland" and then sell advertising space to solicitors?
