Reading between the lines re Ex

    Hi Folks

Both my ex and I have been in more frequent contact recently. I dated her for a while and she was very keen but she ended it after a while as she was still getting over a relationship that ended shortly before our dating. I understood this and we remained freinds with the occasional text to say hi. For a number of months it was almost 50/50 both of us initiating the friendly occasional text (with me a tiny bit more probably). We met for a friendly catch up this month & got on very well. Since then its my ex that is more proactive and frequent in initiating contact. It used to be aprox once a month either of us initiated contact. Now shes initiated contact twice since meeting 2 weeks ago. Were due to meet in the next week. I suspect she might like to see if we can re-kindle things but I would like to ask do you think many women prefer the man to raise the topic of re-kindling something instead of the woman raising the item themselves? Indeed am I reading too much into this and do you think that this might just be freindliness?

She see's you as a friendly face, maybe she is in a low place in her life and some chat from a guy she knows is into her is a welcome release from boredom..
Don't wait around for her, just move on and be with someone who actually wants to be with you...

Yes you could be right there. On the other hand it may be worth my while broaching the subject in an indirect manner - again its herself who is more proactive at the moment and she was very keen while we were together

I'd say wait until the next time you're meeting up and gauge how she is with her body language, etc... to be honest, I'd be inclined to think that she's now over her last bf and realised that she really likes your company and wants to try again. If she didn't want to be in touch with you, she wouldn't. And if she's initiating it more, that's a good sign.

Totally dont agree with that. We cant see from here if she likes you again or not. I think you should go with the flow, perhaps she does regret the break up. I would see her a few more times after this and then bring up the chat.

Personally Id prefer him to initiate it, but my reasons are bit cowardly, in that Id be afraid if I said it and he didnt feel it, Id hate the rejection, but at least if he said it, Id know he wanted to and didnt feel pressured into going along with it because of the awkward moment. Id guess she might be going along those lines. In a way Id say go for it, what do you have to lose as in your not together now so it wont make a difference, however be wary that if she rejects it, you probably wont be seeing each other anymore as friends again.

I would agree with MBF1 on not waiting around and making her your everything though. Dont sell yourself short on something that might not happen either.

There is a really simple way to find out,

Does she dress up to meet you?

If not, she is 100% not into you

Thanks for all replies. Yes I think I will test the water and discuss the relationship as was - this might prompt some proactive discussion :D
