Guess it's not just an Irish disease.
Runners had a perfect autumn day - and a slightly shorter course - for the race around the city centre and Cardiff Bay.
A half marathon involving 15,000 runners has turned out to be too short - by 193m (211 yards).
Barnardo's, organisers of Sunday's Cardiff half marathon, which attracted elite athletes, club runners and charity fun-runners, have apologised.
They said a last-minute "urgent decision" was taken to change the route on safety grounds due to an obstruction on the course.

Were a few people in the club that ran that one at the weekend and seemed very happy with their times last night. I only heard the rumours of a short course later on, but not sure if anyone had passed on the bad news to those that had run Cardiff at that point. :(

You can be the popular one to bring them the bad news tonight - could turn into an unscheduled tempo session.

Some local opinion on the Cardiff short course matter:

Think that is pretty much what we concluded after the 5 mile error. If your organising a race of X miles, the first and most important thing you need to get right is that it is X miles long.
