Problem with Ipod Nano (5th gen)

    Hi all,

I've recently purchased an 8GB ipod nano (5th gen). I started uploading music to my ipod, approximately 2.6GB of music i.e. 750 songs and found that my ipod was approaching full! I checked the setting on my ipod and found that the storage breakdown is:

    Audio 2.6GB

    Other 4.6GB

    Free space 164MB

I can't figure out what the 'Other' of 4.6GB is!!! If anyone has had the same problem or has any ideas of how to fix this I would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks

    Gerry

When your iPod is plugged in for the first time, it will attempt to load everything you got onto the iPod. To disable, plug your iPod into the computer. Go to the Music tab on top, select the tab 'Selected playlists, albums.....' (deselecting 'All Music')
Detick the checkbox that says 'Automatically fill free space with songs'
    Should be all OK
If that isn't it, see is it set to sync your photos or contacts.
All else fails. Enable it for disc use and poke around the folders and see what's in there.

    This too shall pass.
