Personal Alarm for Elderly Parent

Folks, apologies if this thread is in the wrong place.

My mother has been recently widowed. Thankfully, she is in good 'nick' at 80, and can still drive etc.

I would like to get her one of those personal alarms which she can use, for example, if she is having a bath and is worried about falling and having no one to respond. Maybe something that will alert a series of pre-programmed numbers (she has several relations nearby), or even a monitored system that will do similar.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

There is a very good system called Amber select.

This is very flexible. It can remind the person to take medication and alert someone if these alerts are not accepted.Using various wireless devices it can alert if they are not up by a certain time, if it gets to cold ,if they have a fall it can alert and they can answer a call via wrist button and open two way speech via speaker phone.
AFAIK there is still a grant for getting these installed.

+1 That is a very good system, you can also add smoke detectors, flood detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and and intruder devices for extra protection.

You get what you pay for.
It seems to be limited to 3 numbers & only one device.
Totally different piece of kit to the Visonic

There is a grant available if your over 65 living alone. The installer gets paid for the install and the person living there pays €66 per year to the monitoring station. There is also a grant for smoke, Carbon Monoxide Detectors (€40) Plus external lights (€80). You will need to contact your local authority for more details.
