    Hi folks,

Have my NCT on Thursday. The kind (for that read "condescending") lady I spoke to told me to make sure I had an "underbody carwash" done before I arrived or the car would fail - anyone know where I can get one of these in the North Co. Dublin Area or on my way to the Testing Centre near the Airport?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

never washed under car before, never had it mentioned on the five or six tests, one pretty recent

Just wash the car as usual and jet-wash the wheel-arches and sills (the bits that run under the doors) the way you would normally - nothing special.

If you're only driving on urban roads and not across fields/muddy tracks/building sites then there is no need to clean the underside of a car. Never washed the underside of any of our cars and they all passed.

Ive found having being under alot of cars the majority of them are far dirtier inside the cabin. Its actually very surprising how clean cars are underneath.

If I was ever to use an automatic car wash id actually avoid one that sprays chemicals and high pressure water at the bottom of my car. Theres a layer of protection there that could be upset.
