Is it really that big a deal considering we are nearly all using set top boxes (or at least we will be) to do our decoding and mixing (sat / dtt combo etc) ?

the set is too small to notice any difference with hd don't let that be a buying point.

Anyone know if this tv would be any good as a pc monitor?

HD is still an issue with smaller tv screens if you are using this as a PC monitor - or say running a media player off it.

For 299 I reckon you would probably get better - there are great deals around on tvs at the moment.
