he has 100% feedback and your protected by paypal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,931 ✭✭✭Zab

His 100% feedback is all from 99c bracelets

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,012 ✭✭✭eamonnq

Looks good alright, but his feedback is for fairly cheap stuff. Am tempted though..........

its £120 on Amazon - this guy is selling it for £20 with free shipping from China?

    no deal.

great price but would be highly suspicious.

the 100% feedback seems to be all for bracelets that were bought at an average $0.99! So I wouldn't really be judging electronics against that.

    ....but....

it is so cheap maybe it's worth the risk....

...but then... it's so cheap, surely it has to be a rip off.

He has 100% feedback selling low value items - 99c bracelets etc and is now listing a high value item in large quantities for a ridiculously low price.

That was the oldest eBay scam in the book back when I worked for them in 2004 and people are still tempted.

So now we're posting e-bay items

    Hardly a BA!

Everything on e-bay is a bargain.... Shall I list some?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,012 ✭✭✭eamonnq

A lot of the feeback is also from the same usernames over and over............less tempted now!!!

It's probably modded so that it appears to have 1TB on your computer, but actually only has 10gb in reality. happened to a friend of mine with a usb stick from china.

would avoid. if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't

Think about the RRP and then this price, don't waste your time.

Eh no, everything on ebay is not automatically a bargain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,185 ✭✭✭k123456

It certainly seems a good price, however to good to be true

A lot of ebay sellers are able to mod thumb drives to appear 10 times larger than they are.

Bear in mind you will prob be backing up your data to it. Would you trust your data to a drive that may be dodgy, not worth the risk

Ebay / PayPal may bleat on about fraud protection and luckily I've never had the misfortune to be burned when I've bought or sold but the array of obviously fraudulent items listed is pretty incredible.

It's also way too easy to defraud a genuine seller and win a PayPal dispute.

The OP's post is in good faith but €25 for 1TB from China.....eh, no ta.

don't forget duty of 14% add vat of 21 and handling fees -no longer a bargain. I only buy within the euro zone .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,262 ✭✭✭Vertakill

The sellers feedback is mostly from the same people, and for the same items.

As in, the same beads are being bought/sold over and over and over to generate the positive feedback.

    Scam written all over it.

You actually have a pretty good chance of avoiding customs on this simply because it'll never be sent.

I've had two older freecom drives (similar style but more rounded with a grey front, 500gb) go belly up on me. Bad odds, I wouldn't go down that road again.

Now, mysterious 25 euro ebay bargains, I'll be right there

I would suggest deleting this thread in case someone clicks on it, thinks that its a great bargain and purchases, without reading through the thread.
Although I think anyone that falls for it deserves to be scammed. They wont get burned as bad the next time.
