3Connect Software Download

    Hi All,

I recently purchased a new E122 on the net as my old one I got from three broke down.(Out of warranty now) The only problem is the 3Connect software on my PC was erased by myself and I suppose I need it back. I plugged the E122 into my friends PC with my old sim card and clicked on the 3Connect and it worked no problem. The software version was '3Connect 2.0.0.27 BL 27'. Could anyone tell me where I might be able to download and install this software from a link? Or alternatively, if there is a more up to date version could you please point me in the right direction?

    Thanks all.

The software is on the modem.

It's not on this modem as it was a modem which was unlocked and has some other software on it (Mobile Partner setup software). So, I need to get a link to the 3Connect software so I can install on my machine as it is not on the modem I purchased in the UK. Thanks for the help.

Mobile Partner is the default software Huawei (the manufacturer of your USB Modem) have on the modem.

All that 3 do is tailor the software with custom icons and have a setup with a 'profile' that includes your network operator's APN.

Have you tried installing Mobile Partner at all?

Yes I have Amalgam, but when I go to connect after I installed the software it seems to fail, saying default connection does not exist or something like that if I remember correctly? All I know that with the 3Connect software it ran itself and there was no setting up, just connected automatically is all. Can I get this somewhere or what can I do to get it working? Thanks again.

Hopefully your Control Panel looks the same as this, otherwise I have wasted my time.. :D

    ---

Huawei Mobile Partner without a 'Default Profile' will look like this..

You will not be able to connect until you set up a Default Profile.

    huawei001.gif

Go up to 'Tools', then move your mouse cursor down to 'Options'. Click.

    huawei002.gif

Once you're in Options, move your mouse cursor down to Profile Management. Click. Then move your mouse cursor over to 'New', on the right. Click.

    huawei003.gif

This is the New Profile, notice your cursor jumps to the Profile Name entry by default. You can name\rename the profile anything you want.

In this case.. 3 Ireland will do.

Move your mouse cursor over the APN buttons (green dot). Select 'Static'.

Move your mouse to the APN box below that and enter:

*NOTHING ELSE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED*

Move your mouse pointer to the Right and select Save.

Move your mouse pointer below Save and click Set as Default.

    huawei006.gif

Hopefully, your screen should have the details shown below.

Now.. move your mouse cursor down to the bottom and click OK.

    huawei007.gif

You're back at the main screen, with, as you'll have noticed, your chosen profile name filling the profile window.

Ok, now, click Connect, to the right of the profile name window.

If all went well.. you should see the following, or something similar, depending on your operating system.

    huawei009.gif

Hopefully that helped, ask a question and provide details if something didn't work as above.

    Not a bother.

Just to add, adding a profile for any other network is exactly the same, there's not much change between the different SIM operators, apart from the APN (Access Point Name).
