My favourite marathon to date. I've run 2 of the last 3 and am considering 2011 but for those who like to get in early. I just got an email to say entries open today.

Any idea when this tends to fill up?

So after a conversation with the wife a day or 2 ago where she thought I should ease up on the marathons as they are very time consuming, I'm now running Dublin '10, London '11 and Berlin '11.

    Reckon I'm a dead man walking :D

Why did I have to see this thread this morning. Ah well, it's done now. I'll probably wait until after London (which she knows about) to break the Berlin news to her.

It filled up in mid-April this year, and that was the earliest it ever sold out according to the publicity email they sent shortly afterwards.

I'd love to do either Berlin or Amsterdam next year. Will have to wait till Aprilish before I decide though 'cos it'll depend on a load of other things whether I can commit to an overseas marathon or not.

Signed up earlier today. €66 including chip for first 10000 €86 up to 25000 and then then €106 until it fills up. Dont know about anyone else but why pay €40 more if you are going to do it.
2011 will be my 4th year in a row.

I've entered myself. Would never normally enter so far in advance but I'm going to do this one even if I have to walk it!

Was thinking about it myself but looks like i'll be in Thailand for most of july so will be giving it a miss. But as a mad runner I did have to check http://www.pattayamarathon.com/news_detail.php?id=42

Are you going with the other half or are you going on your own ?? Single rooms are exp.

Not if you stay here, like I did. I think I paid 150 euro for 3 nights for a single room (extra fiver for breakfast, which they also served early on marathon morning.

Less than 10 minute stroll to the startline.

However, it's the oddest hotel room I've ever stayed in - my small room had a bed, a sink and a shower, all within a 9 foot x 6 foot space. The toilet was down the coridor, but it was for my exclusive use and I had my own key for it!

There's two possibilities at the minute. My cousin is thinking of entering and if he does then maybe Peckham's suggestion would suit us down to the ground. But on the other hand if he doesn't then the other half will be going so all other suggestions welcome.

I was thinking of doing something similar myself next year as it would be nice to have the option of having somewhere for some friends of mine in Germany to stay if they decided to come along that w/end, they've young kids so could only be a last min decision.

Any recommendations based on where you stayed this year much appreciated.

i stayed by the hackesher market in the mitte district and was happy with the location.shops, restaurants all nearby and u-bahn and s-bahn and trams also.only one or two stops on s-bahn to the start.
