replacing regular bulbs with led bulbs

    can anybody tell me if it is ok to replace filament brake light bulbs with led bulbs? The car is a 2001 volvoo s40.

    you need to wire in a resistor or your car will show the bulb failure warning light on the dash(if it has one) all the time. you can get led bulbs with built in resistors on ebay. depends on the type though.

    The bulbs i bought on ebay say they are replacements for the regular bulbs so i presume they have the resistor built in. They are these ones

    Are they as bright as regular bulbs? Are they legal?
