Clio 1.6 Automatic -Import ?

    Any one help with this please I have been offered 1.6 Clio Automatic ( 1999) all is ok with it but it does not a popular model , does anyone know if this car is liley to be import and if so any probelms with parts etc or any other info relating to this car would be great

    You can use www.motorcheck.ie to see if it's an import - but as far as I know, when people talk about "imported" cars being a problem for parts, they're generally referring to Japanese cars that are different to the ones that were sold in Europe.

    If it's a right hand drive Clio, then it's nearly definitely from the UK so I couldn't imagine it would be that much of an issue - though you are right that there seem to be very few automatic Clios around.

    I've only some experience with a 1999 1.2 manual Clio that my wife owned, and I thought it was a great car. I don't know what the auto is like - it's not always a great experience in smaller engined cars. If you don't get someone here with 1st hand experience, it might be worth while googling for any Renault owner forums where you might be able to get some info.
