Fable II free from XBox.com ... possibly.

Hi All,

I just saw this posted on Kotaku (a video games website), and it appears that either through mispricing or some marketing plan for the forthcoming Fable III, users can download Fable II for free from the XBox Live Marketplace.

You seem to have to go to the website via the link in the story, or else it shows up at $19.99 / €29.99. It also shows up as full price if you search for Fable II from the marketplace site.

getting a "500 - Server error"

but i can see the game as listed as free in the marketplace

Says that I have already downloaded it? :eek: (I downloaded the first part of the fable 2 episodes ages ago)
EDIT: When I try to download it says "download again" but when I click that it asks me to buy it?
EDIT2: Looks like I just got the game for free . I went onto the free link on google chrome, I clicked "download again" and it just got added onto my download queue
BTW this is the full version since its listed as being 6.7 GB

It's no longer free, link still shows it's free but it's a dead link.On the marketplace on the xbox and online it does show the correct price.

download got to 99% but then froze :mad:. Went to download it again and the free file has been replaced back to the free episode :mad:

I have to say untill this I didn't know that in the states they were paying only $20 for games on demand while we have to pay €30. I knew there was difference but according to xe.com it is over twice as much!!!!

Yeah, that's one of the reasons that I haven't been indulging in the Games on Demand (bar Psychonauts ). The handiness would be one thing, but the games are too expensive here to make it worthwhile.

Either the game is €29.99 on the service, but you could pick it up for €10-15 used, or worse you see the price is $19.99, which with todays exchange rates would still only be €15 or less.

Thanks, but no, I'll put up with the 'trouble' of walking to a shop and then getting off my chair to put a disc into the machine ... thanks anyway

The download worked for me but the problem is that the download is stuck at 99% for the past hour :mad:

Exact same thing happend to me :mad: went to cancel and restart and it gave me a error message

Yea i cant get it now either.It just gives me the demo
