Pedestrian access to St James's from Rialto Luas stop?

Is there an opening in the hospital's boundary at/near the stop?

I know there's a dedicated St James's stop but the part of the hospital I'm going to is at the western end; the Rialto stop would be that much closer (particularly if it's bucketing, and it might well be as it'll be around the end of November when I'm going).

Had a look on GSV but couldn't see an entrance or path leading into the grounds.

    Look at Google Maps :)

Rialto stop is just east of the South Circular Road, and there is an uffing big entrance to the western side of James's there.

    yes, your right.

Funnily, I'd looked at the map and had somehow got it into my head that the western entrance would have involved a far greater slog from Rialto than seems to be the case. 'Tis no bit.

Still, I think it's unacceptable that the Luas won't take me to the very door of the clinic in the hospital I'll be attending.

Equally, why doesn't public transport pick you up from your very back door. For that matter, public transport's an absolute imposition if I have to use my feet at all. It should be ro-ro: I should be able to roll off my bed onto the bus, and then roll onto the Luas and then roll into the waiting room, all without a crease in my dressing gown. Why is the guvment spending our taxes on the likes of the Luas when they were already using them particle transporter thingies on Star Trek IN THE 1960s!:mad:;)

Yes, we demand a cooked full Irish breakfast on the Luas!:D
