CD-WOW Problems

No change for this company then, I had ordered the CDs by Brandon Flowers and The Script and also House MD Series 6, all because the prices were so good.

Needless to say, a month later I am still waiting. I have reported this to them and they are looking into it for me.

Hopefully this will be sorted soon, has anyone else had any other issues with CDwow.ie of late?

Gave up using them a few years ago... 3 orders in a row never showed up, waste of time.

I really have to say that they are the worst online company I have ever dealt with. I ordered a game that was in stock and then it was on back order. I canceled and wanted a refund but they came up with a silly excuse that they couldn't refund back to my card and after a lot of angry emails they finally agreed to an e-voucher. I ordered The Pacific last week on pre-release and today again it's on back order. Absolutely pathetic company. Avoid..

Now to add to this right. I emailed them and asked them I wanted something that's in stock. I told them a game I would get instead. I double checked with them to make sure this game, toy story 3 on ps3 just to point out it's an old enough game is def in stock. Right so I canceled the pacific and ordered the game instead. Sure enough it said waiting dispatch.

Just checked now and it said "backordered" !

Seriously, I have NEVER dealt with such a horrific online company in the 10 yrs I'm buying online. The sooner this company folds the better.

The fact that they are based in Australia doesn't help I say. The emails I've receiving are from cdwow australia

I am so angry, I said I had to write on boards to warn people. Ordered a game on CD WOW, got it a few weeks later, from HONG KONG, I was furious, I was worried, it wouldnt work right etc.

The week before it came, I ordered 3 music cds (1 had a dvd included in it). Despatched on the 9th of Dec, still hadn't come by Christmas eve, so I had to run out and buy them again, at a more expensive price, as I didn't have time to shop around.

Contacted them, angryily I explained, they replied and they said return them and they would refund them. I wrote another nasty email today when they came, again from HONG KONG. No wonder they didn't come on time, you would think, when you are ordering from .co.uk, they are coming from UK. But apparantly in the T&C, it says they come from all over the world, or something to that effect.

The dvd that came in the music CD is not playable in Europe. They sent me the returns information and I went to the post office and returned them.

Now I am having major arguments with them, as they are sending me a voucher. I explained I am entitled by law to a refund the same way I paid for it, by credit card or paypal. I explained I refuse to take the voucher etc, as I will never shop on their site again and told them I would be writing up on different sites to avoid CD WOW.

SO PLEASE PLEASE, do not use CD WOW, even if their prices are cheaper, they are scammers. Amazon (ex p&p) and Play are similiar in price and in my opinion faster and better service.

    Hope this helps someone......

They used to be reliable a few years back but once they got into the legal trouble with selling CDs/DVDs without the VAT or something, they went to the dogs and haven't recovered. Play.com are still good though

CDWow is a company based in Hong Kong, where do you think it's going to come from. Don't cast your own false assumptions onto the company, just because you don't know who you're buying from. Also, I assume it did actually work, so your assumption was wrong then?

You thought wrong, and again your own false assumptions are not CDWow's fault.

They sell DVDs for all regions, so you need to make sure you're buying the correct one.

The law won't help you, as CDWow are not based in Ireland or the EU. If you bought the wrong item, due to not reading what region it was for, the law wouldn't help you anyway, as you would not be entitled to a full refund for your own mistake.

Please provide proof of this scam, or retract the statement. Accusing a company of running a scam is very serious, so be prepared to back that statement up. So far, all you've done is make false assumptions and accusations. CDWow are a very poor company to deal with, but this does not make them scammers.

With the majority of your information being inaccurate or blind assumption, I'd doubt it. There are many reasons not to use CDWow, and apart from the slow delivery time, you seem to have missed them.

Also, don't cross post the same thing to multiple forums, your other post has been deleted as spam.

While CDWOW are a legitimate company and are in no way scammers, the service they provide is awful. I used to use them a lot when HMV etc. charged €20 for a CD but now that they sell them for more reasonable prices I don't mind paying only €2-3 more than CDWOW knowing I'll have the CD now and not having to wait anywhere between 2-6 weeks for it to get delivered.

My biggest gripe with them back in the day was there was no indication on whether the item you were buying was in stock or not. On a few occasions I'd buy a 'new release' and after waiting a couple of weeks and not got a dispatch notice, I'd send them a note inquiring about the delay and get a reply saying they were waiting delivery from their suppliers. I don't know if they're still like this now though.
