Has anyone registered an imported car since Sept. 1st?

As above, has anyone registered a car since the new regulations came in?

I'm not so much worried about the estimate they will give me but what exactly I have to do and bring with me.

There are a number of issues I have which they seem to want.

Firstly I didn't bring the car in, I don't have an invoice for the purchase as it was a private deal (but this can be gotten) and as I don't have the car yet I don't have the reg number or chassis number to book the test either (again they can be gotten)

I also can't make it within '7 days', I have no idea when the car arrived in Ireland and I'm limited as to when I can actually bring the car over without taking a day off work.

The last time I registered a car it was a simple case of walking in with the log book and paying there and then

Anyway, as above, has anyone actually done it and know what the procedure is?

I think it would have been better if you used 'imported car' instead of just 'car' in the title, it only becomes obvious when you read the post.

you have 7 days to BOOK an inspection and 30 to complete the process.

You will need proof of date of purchase and date of import. Car will need an MoT from whereever it came from or it will be tested. No doubt you will need the reg number to book...

The problem is I have no idea when it was imported as it came in from the North hence no proof of when this happened.

I bought the car in the Republic.

It was MOT'd in July and I have the report + disc from that and also the log book.

The reg number can be gotten easily enough.
