    Hi guys,
2 small queries, wondering if it is possible to buy a cheap cable connecting an s video output on my Dell Laptop to a HDMI output on my high defintion tv?Any such cables on Pixamania,Komplett or any of the other websites?Does Maplin or any of the other electronic stores stock such cables? Some websites seemed to indicate I'd have to buy an extortionate s video to HDMI signal converter? Also wondering is there a cable which connects the ipod touch to the same said HDMI output on my HD tv?Again I do wish to pay an extortionate amount on the Apple website!:eek:Do Argos stock Them?I know they are'nt cheap.

s video wont upscale to hdmi and thats the reason you'd be charged silly money for a convertor. It simple really. S video is standard definition HDMI is High Definition.
You can get High def (albeit not full HD) from your ipod touch but only by using component cable (Red Green Blue Connectors) check if your tv has component input.
A cheaper solution for your s video problem would be to buy a scart connector. make sure its a scart input though.

Thanks a lot The Big Gig,yeah I can go about sourcing an Apple Component AV cable, however I've used both my Scart connections on my HD tv so I'm not sure what to do in order to connect up my laptop s video output?

    No bother.
If your scarts are already being used then maybe it's a longshot but do either of the devices that ate taking up a scart connection have a spare scart input? If one is a video player have a look. Most do. Then you can just select the tv input for the video and select the input on your video player for your laptop.
