Hi I’m looking to sit the entrance exams to the bar next year. I’ve been out of the law for some years now and would appreciate some revision advice as I’m a little daunted by it all at this stage. I won’t be taking any revision courses and hope to manage the study myself. Words of advice, study tips etc would be appreciated. I’m reading through the past threads for same but if anyone is aware of any good threads with regards this let me know. Also are the exams very different to typical university law exams?
Apologies in advance for of the generality of the post but I’m only getting down to starting at this stage.

See King's Inns entrance exam posts further back down the Legal Discussion thread for more advice and tips on the general requirements. If you are, as you say. I'd recommend doing a top-up course in Griffith or Independent Colleges. It might be money well spent.

I agree with Tom Young, but I'd also just like to say that it's not clear from the OP but I wanted to point out that there is no exam for admission to the bar in this country like there is in the US.

One must pass an exam to be accepted to the degree course and then must take an exam at the end of the degree course to be called to the bar.

It also fully depends on what your law degree is in - check kingsinns.ie to see if your degree is approved. If it is not then you will have to do a 2 year diploma at the King's Inns before doing the degree entrance exams.

    Thanks folks.
I'll hav a look at that Tom. Think the prep courses are not an option finances wise. Just going to try and pull together as much revision materials as I can.
Oisin yeah my degree is acceptable and it was the entrance exams for the bar course I was talken about.
