Just noticed some rust and weeping on a downstairs radiator on the radiator itself near the tap. The tap itself looks fine. Is it much of a job to replace it or would i be better off getting a plumber?
    cheers.

Its handy enough if you know what your doing. A plumber wont charge you much, and its probably just worth it. The fact you called the valve a tap, doesn't sounds like your familiar with plumbing. If you ruin into problems with old tail pieces, moving brackets, weeping valves, its just not gonna be worth it. Plenty of lads would gladly do it for you.

imo plumber is always best on a downstairs rad. System needs to be drained down etc

system doesnt need to be drained down unless a valve is being replaced and even then it can be plugged but u need to know what your doing as said. the problems come when a valve doesnt close off and water starts spraying out and you dont know what to do so always best to get a plumber or someone who is familiar with heating systems and changing rads to do the work.
