Student union website down a lot

    Is it just me or is the student union website down a lot lately? nearly evertime i go to it, it's down

    Afaik SU website is on Brockman server which the previous admin is no longer willing to maintain, so CompSoc are being asked to administrate it gratis. Needless to say they're not leaping at this. I think that's why the SU and Sin websites are down almost constantly.

    SU website (and all clubs, societies etc. websites) are on Ralph, formerly known as Brockman.

    ISS run the show on administrative computing. We run the CompSoc side.

    Also - we've come to the realization that Ralph goes down every Saturday at midnight.

    We called it Brockman :cool:

    Ralph servers being replaced soon, it's been crashing every weekend for the last month or two. New server has been ordered and awaiting delivery.

    I'm webmaster for a society and outgoing webmaster for a club. It's been an ongoing problem for the last few months. Paul, the guy outsourced to look after clubs, society and yourspace stuff sent around a detailed email of the issues recently. I'll not put his email online without his permission though. Basically they're replacing the server and it should be sorted in the next few weeks.
