Bought myself a 2002 alfa romeo 1.8 156, good condition blah de blah. What are the common faults with these cars, I seem to be getting a squeaky noise when turning the steering wheel left or right. The only answers I find after google is weak springs to wish bones needing replacing. The car is clean with 116000 miles on the clock and runs very smooth. I will be getting the timing belt changed and also a full service monday, are there any hidden problems i should look out for or replace.

    have one and love it!

Suspension gets squeaky with age, normally means the wishbones are on the way out. TB is the most important thing to look at, good thing to get it changed. Head gaskets can go too so keep an eye on the cooling system. Overall, i've very little to complain about with mine.
