or downstairs cloakroom has been left with pipework for fitting a shower and im considering using wetwall for the shower area instead of tiling or hhi type panelling. have you used it before whats your thoughts on it?

ive fitted mermaid before which is the more expensive option so I'm hoping theirs not going to be much difference.

the wet wall comes in 900x2420mm or 1200x2420mm so I was considering getting a 900x1200 shower tray (so theres no wasteage) with a lakes 900 bi fold door and 1200 panel but seems lakes dont do a 1200 panel :/ dont fancy a 1200 slider door really because our toilet is beside it. my other option is just go 1000x1000 square but then I'm wasting 200mm on each side for the wet wall and wasting money imo.

also i've noticed a company selling electric showers through amazon cheap cheap - even better than I can get in my wholesalers as a price for my own house - anyone ever bought off them?

First to deal with the shower door.

A company called image use to do a door and inline panel to reach 1200 relatively cheap. I am sure novellini do it as well. I dont know how image are doing at the moment but KMT wholesale are novellini agents in ireland. Between them both you will solve the problem of not going with a slider. I am prity sure they also do a 1200 side panel.

On the showers. All the showers on amazon are generally electric showers. They are cheaper because they rely on good mains pressure. Irish mains pressure is Shhhh Crap. You might be a cheap shower but you could end up needing a T450i plumbed in afterwords and BTW if you dont your lucky. Its usually the misfortunate case that occurs...Catch my drift...

Buy the cheap shower but be warned....

yeah know what you mean, was thinking perhaps even running costs would be cheaper not going down the electric route. I can run HW only no prob and imo doing that for an hr a day is better than running a 10.8kw shower a few times a day. at the end of the day I'll have the HW only on for dishes etc as its an internal immersion until I get a chance to put in a willis at a later date as a quick backup.

theres a casing at the ceiling in our cloakroom which apparently has the pipe in it for a shower - im guessing electric - because theres a blanking plate at shower height and a 45amp pull switch. gonna have to do some investigating because I expect this casing is under the bathroom above, just inside the bathroom which has the non slip vinyl stuff stuck down on it, depending what way the joists run I might have a problem fishing in another pipe - however the idea of a high pressure power shower seems nice. I like the off the wall quartz digital but am told the visage is the cheaper option.

infact.. if I go with either of those showers I won't need a second pipe into the shower room as hot and cold run to the processor box then 1 pipe to the shower fitting.

    food for thought
