Hi, I have just set up a b260a mobile broadband router. I am getting a reading of very strong connection, pinging google.com was fine with an average of 103ms. The problem is trying to connect to anything other than the router (192.168.1.1) just goes on until the request times out. I wonder if anybody else has had this problem. when I move the sim back to the modem dongle it connects to the internet just fine.

    Moved to Midband.

Sounds like a DNS issue of some sort.

    Thanks for replying jor el,
not really sure how this should be an issue though, since the router comes preset for 3 with connection parameters set and with DHCP set as enabled. the only things that you really are allowed to change is the two-way handshake and security settings. if you could expand on what you are thinking it would help me see where you are coming from.

Thinking of changing over to one of these myself. Currently using the USB dongle. Is it possible to connect a NAS hard drive to these routers? I shouldnt need remote access just wireless access to the hard drive about the house. Is there just one wired connection for these routers?

Yes there is one port at the back, I have my nas connected to it :-)

Bit of a pain the Huawei only has one ethernet port, was gonna get a NAT but then I wouldn't be able to use my 360. Annoying.

Sure a router works with 360. you put it in DMZ.

But the 3G WiFi spots are no use for gaming really.

here how i have it setup, huawei b260a acting as a modem, connected to a router, and 4 ports and the router used for PS3, NAS, PC, and wireless for laptop and phone, and all works like a charm :)

got 3 nbs broadband 2 days ago, living in the heart of west cork and getting great speed, 5mb. far superior than previous supplies. had great difficulty on first few hours though, no connection at all even though getting good ping rates, contact 3 and get them to change profile, did this and now working perfect, would recommend highly.
