Get rechargeable ones, will save you buckets over the years.

    Depends on many factors.

Firstly you get about a year from a rechargeable battery and, unless you have an expensive conditioning charger, things start to go south pretty fast.

Rechargeable batteries like to get charged up and used immediately, they go flat inside a week if left unused. There are expensive ones that won't, but you'll need to buy those from an agent, you won't find them in Tesco's.

Then we have the voltage rating, a typical AA Cell is rated @1.6V a rechargeable cell of the same type is rated @1.2V ~ right there one could have issues, so it's important to understand where to use rechargeables.

    In theory yes, in practice......

If recycleable were as reliable as regular and held their full charge longer..., but they just dont, yet. Li-ion are improving perhaps but still not regularly available in 1.5v AA format.

Certain applications such as remotes are better with regular.
I have so many rechargables but regularly cant find a fully charged one at the critical moment.:(

They had a pack of 2 rechargeable Duracell D cells in Newcastle West yesterday for only €1.50 a pack - very handy for my fence sprayer!
