Would there be a case for maybe colour tagging (antlers) to allow some good sires to mature?? A kind of off limits signal for stalkers...
I often had a guy like this in the sights but just let him go out of
1, Appreciating the size and beauty
2, Nice to see a beast like this on my rights
    3, Not needing/wanting that much/type meat.
    4, weight or drag effort.
5, Knocking females is better for population management.

...nice thru any lens well done.........

It's often the smaller sneakier deer that successfully mate as the other lads are too busy fighting, Attenborough had a very interesting Doc on it.

So perfect heads do not mean they will be the only breading male.

    In regards shooting monsters?
Well I have only shot 2 monster fallow, all the rest were Doe's or young bucks.
I often had huge deer in my sights across a stream or a ravine, and I said, no way José and let them off, a young buck can be carried on shoulders if needs be, not a big humpy stag!

All that good land in Meath must mean Stags are bigger there compared to the higher parts of Wicklow and the West for example:)

I only got permission for this land on Friday last,
there is about 200acers of wood land and tillage.

The deer only cross the land as far as i can see but i don't know much about them to be honest.

The thing is i don't shoot deer have no interest it,

It would be way to easy:p:p:p:pac:

The guy that owns it loves the deer but mentioned to me he mite need to get someone to cull a few, they do a bit of damage ever now and then.

Was coming home on Saturday night and another lad stepped out in front of us and he was a nice bit bigger.

It a pity about the quality of the picture sure was some beast.
