I'm looking into improving a site entrance to a factory that has very limited access & turning circles for getting artics in & out... the limited information from the usual sources (Metric Handbook & RSA guidelines) really aren't a great deal of help.

Does anyone know where I can get more detailed info or should I just consult a road engineer? (I don't really have the time for the latter though, as the client is looking for sketches by Monday).

There is software called AutoTrack which basically can simulate the path of an artic on an autocad drawing. The software is expensive but I think you can download a trial if you can figure out how to use it...

I had this situation before and how I got around it was actually ringing an Artic trailer production company and got through to the drawing office, explained my dilema and they gave me all the relevant turning areas required and also emailed their standards in AutoCAD to me.

No harm in trying this 1st thing Monday morning and you may get the answer you require.

I dont have the information with me now so I cant give you the exact details as they gave me, sorry....
