Has anybody had this problem? 3 weeks ago I place a Renault Fuego Wanted ad on a number of websites incl a well known Ads one(DD).
Now in my opinion if you place a wanted ad then you are looking for something. By default, if you answer a wanted ad then you should be interested in selling,,,right??? Well at this point I have been told of 8 Fuegos that are supposedly in this country and are for sale or that may be sold...The 2 most interesting cars that I was told about also remain the most elussive!. I have been promised pictures for these 2 cars by there owners for three weeks and now not a word...No mention was made by either party of values etc etc or what I was willing to pay so I assumed that they were not canvasers(excuse the spelling). I even ot a phone call yesterday from a guy who said he knew of one and what was I willing to pay? I told him it would depend on the condition,,and he kept pestering me for a price and in the end I told him to bugger off unless he could produce pictures.
Has anybody had this trouble before before?

PS---Just received an email about 4 in a scrappy,3 are running. Pity the little 80 yr old lady whos number was given didnt know about them!

Welcome to the wasteland that is a wanted car ad in Ireland.

The amount of absolute tossers ringing up with no clue what so ever except to try to turn a buck on the back of a request beggers belief in my experience.

Why not e-mail or phone all the county or regional vintage clubs ? There are lads on those clubs that know where every interesting car is for a 40 mile radius.

we just have to put up with the time wasters. Some guy asked me for photos of the interior of a car Im selling, I obliged and got the reply."thanks for the pictures"...added to his collection I would guess!

    Pictures, prices - meh.

Just get the address and go and see them. Worry about the details afterwards.

If you move on to the right in those photos on Flickr there are piles of baled cars which is probably what you're referring to.

Sorry, but I'm not going to drive 150 miles to see some car that is SUPPOSE to be immaculate when Its not, and pay immaculate prices when in truth its is scrap!:( ........Anyway, guy comes back to me with correct phone number swearing he knew where these 4 Fuegos were. He gives me the phone number which I ring. Turns out these 4 Fuegos were there about 10 years ago.
