Counting Comps in 2010

2010 is finished counting comp-wise in our place & i guess for now for most people. was just checking on golfnet & was in 22 h/c counting comps this yr, just wondering how this stacks up against others - low, high...whats your count?

Played 25 qualifying rounds.

Cut 1.6
5.3 -> 4.6 -> 5.5

Started year at 5.3 and ended at 5.5. Played well from tee to green for most of the season and chipped well too but putted very poorly. Got demoralising after a while. There is always next year.

36 counting comps in 2010, got cut 1.4 and got 15 .1's back, started the year on 7.8 and now on 7.9 with a low of 7.7, considering I put in little or no practice, its a fair return for the year, hopefully next I can push on from here.

I've had a bit of a Harrington year. I've never practiced more in my life.
Started the year at 12 but I think I had maxed out with the game that I had at that point.

Although it's [handicap progress] not what I was hoping for, at all, Handicap wise, I feel I've laid the foundations in my game which will enable me to go lower than I would have been able to if I just carried on as I was.

All the individual components of my game are much stronger than they were when I started. Changed my grip and swing, new chipping routine and much better at putting now. Although it might sound daft, given I've almost got 2 shots back, I feel I am better placed now to get to single figures in the next year or 2 and I'm confident I can do it now.

Still 2 counting comps yet. 1 good round and I'll be back to where I started the year.

45 counting competitions...... 27 .1's (four times i played to my handicap and got .1 back)... 10 cuts totaling in 4... and 9 buffer zones

started year at 8.3, went as far up as 9.0 finishing the year on 6.4

funny old game.... would go through a spell where short game was on fire and long game struggle but for the majority of the year from tee to green was excellent would consistently hit 14 GIR but would continue to two putt every hole... i regularly would have up to 13/14 birdy putts but might only make one

Happy with my year though in the end!!

25 counting comps. 14 .1s. Started year 10.6. Currently 11.2. It was a bloody awful year tbh. Game fell to bits but have to say I learned from what I was doing badly. Game is settling a bit again.

Hopefully still a few qualifying comps to go. Forecast is pretty good for the next week or so and courses are pretty dry so can't see non-qualifying kicking in til after the bank holiday weekend.

Pretty much no mud being picked up on the ball today. Hopefully the rain stays away.
