Website - Ad Space Research

Oh look! Another guy with a website! Yes, like so many others I am trying to do research for a website...I need to find out what companies I need to be looking at contacting (and getting on their books) and as a result, what figures a website needs to be looking at.

The only name of a Media Agency I have so far is Blind Ferret (thanks to the webcomic Ctrl-Alt-Del). I will be getting in contact with them hopefully to find out what the min. specs of a website need to be to get worked with, their commission and potential earnings (although realistically what are the chances of the last one getting answered).

Because the website isn't where it needs to be, I need to get answers for a range of figures - I need to know at what point I can start focusing on the site in-detail (and as a result grow it more and more)...

Does anyone have any other names to check out (the above company is American)? I have also seen companies advertising that they need 100,000 (UK) - 2m (US) monthly page impressions...I don't suppose anyone can give me a good read on this from your perspective (pushing it I know :D).

** I also know that Adsense is a way to go - just need to suggest without suggesting that people click the ads :) **

    🤪

It's probably cos I'm half asleep, but I'm not clear on what you're looking for?

Are you looking for information on getting businesses to advertise on your site?

Have you looked at affiliate advertising? Identify businesses in your website niche and see if they have an affiliate program.

Or, aside from adsense, look at Google's Affiliate Network

Might be somewhere to start while you're building up the traffic needed to deal with agencies.

No idea about the higher end of things, but if you google "display ad agency" and restrict the searches to Ireland you'll get a few agencies who might be able to give you more info. ("online advertising agency" or the like might be a better search term).

And apologies if I've completely misunderstood your post!

You're pretty much spot on - need to cop myself on and be more concise...

Looking into how to get people to advertise on my own site - preferably without having to do all the donkey work initially.

Affiliates may be an area to look at - something I really need to read up on!

A website has to be getting fairly serious traffic for it to generate anything significant from advertising.

Depending on the area you're in, it's often better to implement other ways of monetising the site rather than filling the pages with banners.

Hard to give any more advice without knowing what the site is.
