How to get through to Doctors?

As title says - how do you get through to doctors?

Having difficulty with doctors as they can never tell whats causing the problems. Then they try to insinuate that I am panicky or stressed without realising it. Later, sometimes years, and several doctors later, one will find the simple and obvious cause.

Its totally undermined my confidence in them. I explain what I do know about my history for example - that I do not present a-typically ie I`ve never suffered a temperature ever and minor changes can affect me so although within the normal range it is enough to make me quite ill as has happened in the past and they just seem to have their mind made up then.

Went last week explained I felt unwell, have had consistent problems for 6 months after an operation. Doctor said I had bloods and tests done a few weeks ago and maybe I should look at alternative therapies. Still having problems I rang today and was told to collect a prescribtion. Collected and filled but noticed the very low dosage asked pharmacist who confirmed it was a childs dose.

What am I doing wrong here, is there some secret way to speak to them that they understand?

Keep a diary of your symptoms, try and be as factual& specific as possible with your details. You may even find you yourself will recognise a pattern, or notice things that improve/worsen your condition. Ie: try not to bog them down with reams of info, just a synopsis of all the relevant information. Seriously consider alternative therapy, you may just need a new approach, especially if all avenues of conventional medicine have been exhausted. All the best.

Stick to the same GP, they will have your medical records in place. Ensure you are communicating clearly and ensure that doctors have interpreted the information as you wanted them to.
