    Hi All,

I have looked for information about this on boards but cant find anything, if this has already been posted i apologise.

Can anyone tell me why the taxi regulator does not allow registration of Taxis any more, only Wheelchair and Limos ?

Does anyone know will this change in the future?

    Regards
    Phil

because there are way way way way way too many

  • That's true and probably is the main reason.

But will it be lifted is the question.

I doubt it, the taxi unions would cause havoc if it was I reckon

  • I think its possible to buy licences off people directly, do you know if this is correct?

The Taxi Regulator allows the registration of new taxi plates on the proviso that they must be used on wheelchair accessible vehicles. Transfers on non wheelchair taxi plates continue subject to their strict testing of plate owners, which as well all know is iron clad and rigid:rolleyes:

By strict testing do they require drivers to have basic English and knowledge of where they are going?

But acccording to the taxi regulator ,there are NO problems within the industry and they have no record or any complaints regarding drivers who have little english or have a good knowledge of areas.Everything apparently is rosy.
