Hi all. Bringing junior (4 years old) to Belfast for WWE. Just want to know how many of you guys are going to this. If anyone's been up before, is the Train station far from the Venue? And has anyone got a recommendation for a hotel handy to get to. Thanks;)

OOOPS. very sorry mods. Just saw the forum for travel.
    Please move.
    Thanks again

Hey. I'm not going but I'm based in Belfast so i can answer any questions you may have.

Central station is about a 10-15 minute walk from the venue, it's not that far, but requires going over a couple bridges, and knowing where you're going. Taxis are available outside the station though, usually they're just lined up on the road.

The Hilton is the closest hotel (it's usually where the WWE crew stay as well) but it's probably the most expensive. Everything else is fairly close by, but you do need to know what direction you're walking, otherwise stick to taxis. There's a Premier Inn within about ten minutes from the train station, a Radisson, and a Ramada Encore. Europa Hotel is a bit further from the venue, but close enough to the station. Hope that helps.

still thinking about going but smackdowns star base is quite low for the money i'd have to spend. If edge is confirmed I'll reconsider

    Thanks Michael. Much appreciated.;)
The more big names the better. I'd hate him to be disappointed.

no reason why edge should not be there along with taker and mysterio

on the hotel front i would stay at the hilton, its right across the road from central station if you are coming from the republic (though not central at all in location), the added bonus of being in the hotel with the wwe stars after the show is worth the few extra bucks, non guests get thrown out of the hotel around 10pm

do they always stay at the hilton? i wouldn't mind staying over night

They were stuck there during the ash cloud fiasco so more than likely :)

Next one of these that are on is anyone up for getting a suite?

They look pretty cheap when its divided down.

Like if there was 28 people, it would only be about 36 euro a head?

I know the next one wont be for about a year or so, but might be an idea to throw it out there.

Also it says on the odyssey website:
WWE are set to return to Odyssey Arena once again, this time with WWE SmackDown!
Come see your favorite SmackDown Superstars Including:
    Kofi Kingston
    Dolph Ziggler
    Drew McIntyre
    Cody Rhodes
    MVP
    Layla

Taker needs surgery on his pectorial muscle. He was supposed to win at BR but he got injured and they changed the finish.

They usually do a Wrestlemania revenge tour and it should be Raw next time round. I'd be up for doing the suite thing

Just wondering if there's room for moving closer to the ring at these type of events or does everyone stay where they are seated? Thanks.

    Floor BLock J

    Thanks

What usually happens (in dublin anyway) is that you take your seat, and when wrestlers come out, kids and people go storming up to the barriers.

what usually ensues is absolute chaos (if not dealt with right).

My advice to you would be spend the first hourish in the seats your given, but bring your young lad up to the barrier when this is happening.

Keep an eye out for some open and empty seats.

dont go near the security guards but when you know for certain that there is no one in those seats (usually around intermission is when its definite.)

You can go up and sit in them and no one will think much if there is a few seats empty.

In the sense that if there was 5 or 6 together taking 2 seats wont look bad.
If there is two right at the front and your seen taking them, you can be sure that someone behind you will see you going up and tell someone and have you embarassed.

Why go up during the wrestlers come up?
Because then you will get a better look at what seats could be free for later. :)

I dont agree with anyone doing this but when i see someone with a child doing it (especially as young as yours) i dont mind. :o
IF the security comes over, be charming and tell them that he couldnt see a thing from back 11 rows and if anyone comes to take them you will go right back to your other seat.

Hope it all works out for you and you both have a fantastic time. :)

Hi. I'm staying at the Madison Hotel. It's 5 mins by taxi to the arena. Got myself/wife and son all in with breakfast for 78 euro. Seems nice enough. I'll just let the wife off the leash to the shops when we get there and head to the show with junior. Got the train return for 58 euros for all of us with the help of some guy with voucher codes in Bargain alerts.
    Hope you enjoy it.;)

Just in relation to moving up seats; one thing I'd recommend is getting friendly with a security guard at the event, near the barrier.

At the Summer Bash a few years back, a security guard had kids who were into wrestling, but because he was doing security he couldn't take photos. So my friend took the security guys camera off him and took photos for him all night.

The security guard thanked us by pretty much reserving a spot at the barrier for us through the whole night. He made the night. We actually bumped into him a few times at the Point after the Summer Bash tour.

So with that in mind, I'm sure there are some genuinely nice security guys, and if you just ask them at the start of the show, they might keep an eye out for you.

Then again, of course, they might not, but sure you've nothing to lose by asking. Being polite will get you everywhere :)

    Enjoy the show!

Anyone know if there's any appearances scheduled for tomorrow?
    Haven't heard of any. :(
I'm staying in the Hilton so I'm going on patrol there to hopefully meet some of the wrestlers there.

Yeah also me and kkv have had some disastrous seat jumping incidents.

I had an impromptu Trevor Murdoch impression it was that bad.

Hi all. Just back from an overnight at Smackdown. What can I say? Absolutely loved it. Myself and junior couldn't have asked for a better night. Little lad got to lock hands with Big Show, Finley and MVP. Seats were excellent. 11th row floor seats. Should have wore Nikes for all the running up and down to the rail. Great laugh (even though I'm just 40). Will I go again? Without a doubt. Can't wait. Camera was losing power so photo's are a bit iffey (hard to get a good shot and hold a 4 yr old too) ;).
