You should try doing a start your own business course (I think FAS do them quite regularly), my aunt is thinking bout starting up a little business just for some extra cash and was advised that the course will help you figure out if its possible to make money from the venture and what steps you need to take to get there.....

    Best of Luck!

    Talk to these guys

They will give great start up advice. also worth talking to local enterprise board, suprisingly underused resource for info

I am currently doing a start your own business course and find it very vague and confusing. If you do not have a background in accountancy or bookeeping, which I don't, you will find it hard.

It is good for getting a basic knowledge of how to get started and being compliant with the Tax code and other government dictats.

If you don't have an organized mindset and are not good with money matters then business can be very hard.

Definitely check the photography forum out there are quite a few people there who are professional or semi-professional photographers.

I assume you have done market research and checked out whats out there at the moment, checked the costs of renting a premises and what you should be charging?
