I am ordering pictures on Fujipix.

I am getting the option Glossy or Matte - what is the orm or better to go for.

They are both the same price.

    Thanks

    I prefer matte myself.

    The features are:

    Glossy:
    Pros:
Very shiny finish gives you an illusion of greater contrast in the image.

    Cons:
    Fingerprints easily
Easily "sticks to" the insides of photo albums and glass etc.., often ending up in damage to the photos if the face of the photo is up against anything for any length of time. This pretty much makes using a mat in a frame a must. The glossy being right up against glass in a frame can also make it look like there are wet spots in the image.

Matte (which is NOT a true matte..it's actually mottled and less shiny.. but a true matte has no coating over the paper other than photo emulsion.)

    Pros:
    Doesn't fingerprint easily.
Is unlikely to stick to glass or the insides of photo albums.

    Cons:
Looks a it less contrasty (this can be moved to the plus column for some things.. wedding photography for example, you often WANT a less contrasty image.. or if you're printing things where the image itself is very contrasty and you want to tame it a bit.)

Lustre (which has the "mottled" portion of the matte an the shiny finish of glossy):

    Pros:
Has illusion of increased contrast (not as pronounced as Glossy, but a light more lustrous than matte.. thus the name.)
Isn't likely to stick to glass or photo albums.

Cons: The mottled finish is much larger "bumps" than on the matte finish paper and can sometime make sharp edges of objects look less straight.
