Had a **** three weeks, broken up, fired ect. People tell me Karma should swing my way.

Makes me think, I was born into what, the richest 5% of the world? Probably even higher, in a country with at least a certain degree of social welfare, peace, stability and when I was born, money. Just because my karma is currently better then most of Ireland, doesn't mean my Karma is good.

So surely the whole of the west is ****ed? Or do I misunderstand Karma?

I wish Instant Karma existed. Give to charity and spontaneously orgasm.

Being born into a rich society dosent make you a bad person, just a lucky one. If karma does infact work by our moral standards then as long as you do good deeds you should be rewarded. Not to say karma isnt a load of bollox.

I don't know about Karma but the world is undergoing an economic centre movement, for 300 years the west had it all with virtually no competition for markets and resources.

Now it is moving towards the far east and we can't compete, so the European rich economies will look more like South America in the near future, the days of socialism a welfare net and surplus income may be coming to an abrupt end.

We are ****ed and there is not a thing we can do.

If I don't understand karma, does that meant that I do, in fact, understand karma?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭curlzy

I believe in Karma, well my own version I suppose, nothing to do with magic or that crap. I just think if you're nice to people they'll be nice to you and if you're a **** you'll be treated like one. Hmmmm you reap what you sow, act like a scummer and you'll be treated as one, act like a friend and you'll be treated as one. Hmmm is that Karma though?

Karma implies a belief in re-incarnation.

Karma does not work like that, BUT there is nothing stopping you from taking the initiative and slapping him on the ass! :pac:

The universe really doesn't care about you (or me for that matter). Once you realise that, you don't sit around waiting for your Karma handout. You make it.

Karma is several orders of magnitude more implausable than even divine providence.

    Wikipedia.
According to karma, performing positive actions results in a good condition in one's experience, whereas a negative action results in a bad effect. The effects may be seen immediately or delayed. Delay can be until later in the present life or in the next. Thus, meritorious acts may mean rebirth into a higher station, such as a superior human or a godlike being, while evil acts result in rebirth as a human living in less desirable circumstances, or as a lower animal.

That's the Western interpretation of Karma, and the one that I follow by. When I do nice things, nice things happen to me. When I do bad things, bad things in turn happen to me. Might not be straight away, but it does swing back around. Many people misinterpret Karma.

What a load of old boulderdash!! It confuses me sometimes when some people don't believe in a higher power but they believe in Karma; Something that still dictates how they live their lives.

Or as one girl told me before: "People with disablitities are like that because they were bad in a past life" .........................good grief!
